With ski and snowboard instructor training in Gudauri, we expand our international offering of snow sports instructor courses. Together with our partner Ski IL, we had already carried out a successful course in March 2024 and another in January 2025 in Gudauri – the next course starts in February 2025. This makes the Snowsports Academy active not only in Austria but also in Argentina, China, Georgia, Greece, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt. Moreover, annually, participants from over 40 nations come to Austria to improve their skills and deepen their knowledge.

Gudauri: Reliable Snow, Versatile, and International
The Gudauri ski area is evolving from a hidden gem into an internationally renowned winter sports mecca. Located in Georgia’s Mtskheta-Mtianeti region at altitudes between approximately 2,200 and 3,300 meters, its elevation guarantees reliable snow conditions throughout the season. With around 37 kilometers of slopes, Gudauri offers a diverse range of options:
Wide, groomed slopes: Ideal for relaxed skiing and training courses.
Diverse terrain: From gentle slopes to challenging descents and freeride opportunities that captivate even experienced winter sports enthusiasts.
Modern lift systems: An efficient ascent system ensures short waiting times and maximum on-slope enjoyment.

Moreover, the panoramic views of the surrounding Caucasus Mountains and the excellent infrastructure captivate both day-trippers and long-term holidaymakers.

Win-Win on the Snow: The Successful Partnership Between Ski IL and the Snowsports Academy
Around 10 years ago, Alon Milman founded Ski IL. The idea emerged when Israeli tour operators organized ski trips to Austria—but there was a lack of Hebrew-speaking ski instructors, especially for children’s lessons. In search of a solution, Alon Milman discovered the Snowsports Academy—the only Austrian ski instructor association offering education in both German and English. This led to a long-standing partnership and a true win-win situation: The Snowsports Academy educates Israeli ski and snowboard instructors according to the Austrian system in English, enabling them to teach in their ski schools in their native language. In the meantime, Alon Milman also operates an international ski school in Gudauri, where he fully pursues his passion for winter sports. The collaboration between Ski IL and the Snowsports Academy has grown so strong that training sessions now regularly take place in Gudauri.
Intercultural Winter Sports Experience – Our Motto: "Snow Connecting People"
In January, our instructors Stefan Wallner, Lukas Gruber, and Lawrence Feltham traveled to Georgia to experience Gudauri firsthand. There, they trained 27 enthusiastic snow sports aficionados from Israel over a period of 10 days. For the participants, the course provided not only a welcome break from the tense political situation in their home country but also an immersive winter sports experience that deepened their passion for the sport. The impressive ski area offered the perfect backdrop for the Austrian level 2 course. In addition to hands-on imparting of valuable expertise, the focus was on intercultural exchange – forging new connections and creating unforgettable memories.

English as the Language of Instruction
A special highlight of Snowsports Academy is that all our courses – for both ski and snowboard instructors – are conducted in English. This opens up access to Austrian education for an international audience. The benefits are clear:
International Reach: Our courses are offered worldwide and are highly popular among international participants.
Boost to Austrian Tourism: Many participants come specifically for the renowned Austrian training – often over several years and sometimes together with family and friends.
Overcoming Cultural Barriers: In line with our motto "Snow Connecting People," friendships formed on the slopes effortlessly transcend national boundaries.
Become Part of Our International Community
In addition to the courses in Gudauri, we also offer other English-language educations – such as the international course from March 29 to April 9 at Kitzsteinhorn in Austria. Currently, a few spots are still available.
